When we moved into our new house, I thought the downstairs coat closet would make a perfect home for our shoes. As you can see in the picture below, finding a home for our shoes was not our only problem.

“This is a hot mess!”
While our house has some great features, the size of the coat closet is not one of them. The issue at hand was that we have too many shoes and not enough space. We could get rid of some shoes, but that was not going to happen. I thought finding a solution was hopeless, until I came across a floating shoe rack found here. The floating shoe rack was the perfect idea plus it was affordable. Check out my handy work.

What kind of shoe storage dilemmas do you have?
Try adding two kids to the shoe dilemma mix! I added a hot pink bin and a blue bin under my entryway bench for them to dump their shoes in. It's worked great so far.
ReplyDeleteAdding kids to the mix just means I will need a whole new solution. I have seen a number of sites that use bins for kids shoes - it seems to work the best.
DeleteI have the same debacle at my house. Everywhere i look, shoes are always everywhere. We recently got a shoe rack, but soon overgrew that. Now, we have a shoe rack and a hanging shoe shelf in our coat closet. So far it's working. Can't wait to see what other ideas you come up with for the home.
ReplyDeleteA girl can never have too many shoes! Using a hanging shoe shelf is a great idea. We actually need to stop buying shoes or we are going to outgrow our floating shoe rack.
